Use the Chromebook setup instead.
Chromebooks cannot run the Windows installer. The Chromebook setup installs Linux remote-desktop tools, adds all 30 Crystal profiles, and creates a Crystal Cloud shortcut.

Use this page when you are setting up Crystal access on a Windows computer. Download the ZIP, extract it, and run the installer inside the folder.
Before you begin
You only need one download and one installer file.
This package is for Windows computers. Do not try to run the installer while it is still inside the ZIP file. Extract the ZIP first, then run the installer.

New Windows computer
Install Crystal RDP Launcher for the first time.
This puts a branded Crystal RDP Launcher shortcut on the desktop and Start menu, and pins it to the taskbar when Windows permits it.

Download the setup ZIP.
Click Download Crystal RDP Launcher. If asked where to save it, choose Downloads.

Open your Downloads folder.
Find Crystal-RDP-Launcher-Web-Deployment-20260728-3.zip. It may also appear at the bottom or top-right of your web browser.

Extract the ZIP file.
Right-click the ZIP file, click Extract All, then click Extract. Open the new folder that appears.

Run the installer.
Double-click Install Crystal RDP Launcher.exe. If Windows asks whether to allow it to make changes, click Yes.

Handle SmartScreen if it appears.
If Windows shows a blue warning because the installer is not code-signed, confirm that you downloaded it from this Lakeview page, then click More info and Run anyway.

Open the launcher.
Use the new branded Crystal RDP Launcher desktop or Start menu shortcut. If Windows permits it, it will also be pinned to the taskbar.

Choose your profile and connect.
Select the employee profile you are supposed to use, choose any display settings you need, then click Connect. Microsoft Remote Desktop opens and handles the normal sign-in screen.
Existing Windows computer
Update by running the newest installer.
This package does not use the old separate update command. Use the installer in the newest ZIP.

Download the newest ZIP.
Click Download Crystal RDP Launcher again. A new download does not remove the current shortcut.

Extract the ZIP file.
Right-click the new ZIP file, choose Extract All, then open the extracted folder.

Run the installer.
Double-click Install Crystal RDP Launcher.exe. It refreshes the launcher, the official Crystal icon, and bundled Crystal profiles for the current Windows user.

Use the normal shortcut.
After the installer finishes, use the branded Crystal RDP Launcher desktop or Start menu shortcut. The old Crystal Cloud desktop shortcut is replaced; Windows also pins the launcher to the taskbar when it permits it.

Import new provider profiles only when told.
If Think Smart or the Crystal Cloud provider gives Lakeview an updated profile folder, use Import or replace profiles... inside the launcher.
Using the launcher
The launcher prepares the connection. Microsoft Remote Desktop signs you in.
Choose the correct profile
Only select the Crystal employee profile assigned to you. Using someone else's active login can interrupt their work.
Set display preferences
Choose full screen, a window size, dynamic resizing, or all available monitors before you connect.
Use normal Remote Desktop sign-in
The launcher uses Microsoft Remote Desktop. Any password prompt or saved credential prompt comes from Windows, not from the website.
Need help?
A few things to remember.
Do not put passwords in files.
This installer does not preload passwords. Passwords should not be saved in the website, the ZIP file, CSV files, or RDP profiles.
Shortcut missing?
Run Install Crystal RDP Launcher.exe again from the extracted folder. It installs the launcher into your Windows user profile.
Using a Chromebook?
Use the separate Chromebook setup page. Do not run the Windows ZIP directly on a Chromebook.

Extract the ZIP, then run Install Crystal RDP Launcher.exe.
